Donington Park BTCC circuit guide

Donington Park
Famous for hosting that European Grand Prix which saw Ayrton Senna produce arguably his finest wet-weather performance, Donington Park is rich with history.

Back in 1931 a local garage owner named Fred Craner persuaded a farmer to let him stage motorcycle races on the private roads on the estate. The circuit was requisitioned by the army during the second world war and saw no racing until 1977 when Tom Wheatcroft purchased the land.

Donington Park is one of the easiest venues to reach, situated just off the M1 and right next to East Midlands Airport. A must for any visitor is the Grand Prix Collection, the largest display of F1 machinery in the world.

Donington is a cracking circuit which holds a lot of good memories for me. The great thing is that you can overtake just about anywhere by hook or by crook!
