Silverstone BTCC circuit guide

Silverstone
The "home of British motorsport", Silverstone was built on a Northamptonshire airfield making use of the runways and perimeter roads. It has a rich history, including hosting the first round of the Formula One World Championship.

Spectator facilities come in for criticism, although there have been many recent improvements, and while the track can lack the atmosphere of some other circuits it generally produces some great racing.

Improvements to the local road network and the circuit's car parks have also helped improve the visitor experience.

The Abbey hairpin offers a good overtaking opportunity. It's one of those places where a people go wide and lock up - or run into each other!
