BTCC Driver Profiles - Tom Boardman

Tom Boardman Born: 15 October 1983 Lives: Forton, Lancashire British

A pocket rocket with an infectious smile, Boardman challenged for the production championship in 2003, losing out to Hines at the last round. Made a late move to the SEAT Cupra cup for '04, and won the championship in 2005.

Career highlights:

2005 SEAT Cupra Challenge, opening his account with 2 wins at Donington and continuing the good form to the point that he only needed to be on the grid at the final round to win the championship. As champion, tested a SEAT BTCC car in November at Rockingham.

2004 SEAT Cupra Challenge, a late entry only days before the season started prevented any serious testing. A crash in qualifying was soon forgotten with a 3rd place finish in the opening weekend. Followed up by winning in style at Silverstone then taking 2nd place in the afternoon. Went into the final round with a mathematical chance of the championship but couldn't salvage enough from the weekend.

2003 BTCC with Team Varta, Peugeot 307. A stunning eight wins but lost valuable points due to technical irregularities. Tested a works 307 for VLR in October.
