Career highlights:

2007: BTCC with VX Racing as the team switch to a S2000-spec Vauxhall Vectra. "Fab" was quickest in the pre-season test at Rockingham.

2006: BTCC with VX Racing, driving a Vauxhall Astra Sport Hatch. Baptism of fire in the opening round at Brands Hatch as he tangled first with Plato then Collard, the second incident pitching himself into the barrier on Cooper Straight. Worked his way up to 8th place in race two, and was classified 7th in the third after Collard's exclusion. Became entangled in more than his fair share of incidents but his speed has evident and at Knockhill his first BTCC win was also the 100th for Vauxhall. He followed that up at Brands with another win, and finished the season in 5th place with 163 points.

2005: FIA World Touring Car Championship, for Autodelta-Alfa Romeo. Four wins (and two poles) meant he was in with a chance of the championship going into the final round at Macau, but an accident in the first race meant he had to settle for 3rd overall. Tested a BTCC Vauxhall Astra Sport Hatch after the season finished, and in November was confirmed by VX Racing for next year's British Touring Car Championship.

2004: FIA European Touring Car Championship, for Autodelta-Alfa Romeo. Finished 5th overall with one pole and one win.

2003: FIA European Touring Car Championship for Ravaglia-BMW. Finished 9th overall, best results coming early in the season at Barcalona and Brno.

2002: FIA European Touring Car Championship, Champion for Nordauto-AlfaRomeo, winning 6 of the opening 8 races. Dominated the season with nine victories in twenty races.

2001: European Supertouring Championship, Champion for Nordauto Alfa Romeo, winning 3 races and taking 2 pole positions.

2000: Moved to European Touring Car Championship with Nordauto Alfa Romeo and took the championship.

1997: Italian Touring Car Championship with Alfa Romeo. Finished 2nd overall. Also competed in Spanish Touring Cars for Alfa

1996: Italian Touring Car Championship 5th. (Alfa Romeo); Spanish Touring Cars, 6th overall (Alfa Romeo).

1995: Italian Touring Car Championship, with Alfa Romeo. Finished 3rd. Also contested French Supertouringcars (again with Alfa Romeo) and 2 races in the DTM.

1994: Italian Touring Car Championship, with Peugeot. Finished 3rd overall.

1993: Italian Touring Car Championship, with Peugeot. Finished 2nd overall.

1992: Italian Touring Car Championship, with Peugeot. Finished as Champion.

1991: F3000 with Forti Corse. Best result came in the final round at Nogaro where he finished 4th. 11th overall in championship. Also 2nd in Italian Touring Car Championship for Peugeot.

1990: F3000 with FIRST racing. Best result was a 2nd place at Pau, he also scored points at Jerez, Enna and Birmingham. Finished 10th in the championship.

1989: F3000 with FIRST racing. Failed to qualify at Silverstone but then won at Vallelunga after the disqualification of Martin Donnelly. An incident filled season and that win would prove to be the only points scored. 10th in Championship.

1988: Italian Formula 3 Championship (Reynard 883-Alfa Romeo), 2 race wins, 3rd overall.

1987: Italian Formula 3 Championship (Reynard 873-Alfa Romeo). No wins.

1983: Began karting. In 1986 won both the Italian and World Karting Championships (Formula C125).
